Daniell Baptist Association Church Leadership Institute
The purpose of this school is to train and encourage folks in the service of Jesus Christ.
It is designed to be beneficial to Pastors, Staff, Sunday School Leaders and Church Leaders in general.
All courses will be practical and will involve learners in guided practice in each topic of study. Instructors (for 2009) will be Georgia Baptist Convention staff members who are highly qualified in that identified area of study.
The cost of the training will be $20 per person, per course which also includes all study materials. Each course will last 5 weeks and will be held on Tuesday nights. Each session will begin at 7:00 p.m.
For all interested persons we will have an Introductory Session on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the DBA office in Ailey.

Course offerings are as follows:
Leading a Southern Baptist Church will dive into what it means to be a pastor in a Southern Baptist church. It includes an orientation to GBC ministries as well as specific focus on Cooperative Program, the local association, missions and missionary endeavors, and other critical basics related to Southern Baptist and Georgia Baptist life. This will also include an introduction into the church polity process and how a pastor functions in leading a Southern Baptist church. Classes begin 2/17/09.

Baptist Faith and Message is an Introduction into the theological and doctrinal foundations adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention. Classes begin 4/7/09.
Instructor: Dennis Rogers
Church Administration Foundations exposes the learner to church administrative processes and teaches them how to develop efficient and effective practices in administering the organizational structure of a church. This will include distinctions between administrative processes in smaller and larger churches as well as Anglo, African-American, and other cultural groups. Classes begins 5/12/09.

Pastoral Ministry Basics is an orientation into the basics of being a pastor, including tips for ministry, outreach, evangelism, and how to develop a personal schedule for dealing with the needs of a church. Classes begin 7/14/09.
Instructors: Benny Pate and Jay Vineyard
Building Kingdom Leaders will focus on building a discipleship and discipling ministry. Also, this will include how to identify and train potential leaders as well as help pastors communicate to members the responsibility they have for Christian service. Classes begin 8/18/09.
Instructor: Dennis Rogers
Christian Education Ministries is an introduction to the process of building an educational ministry with an overview of the various educational programs of a typical Southern Baptist church. It will also include practical information on developing the Sunday School as the core educational ministry and will provide ideas for building a growing, healthy Sunday School ministry. Classes begin 9/29/09.

Worship in a Multi-Cultural Setting provides suggestions on how to build worship services, how to blend elements of various cultures in worship, and how to equip leaders and members in leading worship experiences. Classes begin 11/3/09.
Instructors: Jon Duncan and others in the GBC music department as well as Allen Hill and others with unique experience in multi-cultural churches
Personal Spiritual and Leadership Development emphasizes that the heart of a leader influences every other part of a leader’s ministry. This course will provide suggestions for personal growth that enables leaders to be role models as well as guides in developing personal spiritual growth. Classes begin 1/12/10.
